【EL】Grade 6 Ukiyoe-project

The grade 6 class painted their favorite Ukiyo-e artists, like Hiroshige and Hokusai.
Japanese print-making inspired many European artists like Vincent Van Gogh to paint
similar themes. Van Gogh painted in oils on canvas.

Our grade 6 class painted with acrylics and used pencil crayons and calligraphy pens too!
They enjoyed learning how to blend paint with water. They learned that paint is like the
car, and water is the driver, and you need water to drive the car.

They saw the shades they can make with very little paint and were very excited to
see the results of their hard work.

I am very proud of them and happy that they developed an appreciation for Japanese
artists and culture through art!
