【Junior High School】Overnight Trip!!

While the Grade 6 students were having a great temporary experience of being the eldest grade in the school, the junior high school students went off to their destinations for an overnight trip. The G7s went to Nago, then G8s to the south of Okinawa, and the G9s to Tokashiki Island.

Throughout the year, the students will go through various events, and they need to be able to work cooperatively and show efficient teamwork. This overnight trip was a good opportunity for the students to prepare themselves as they had to work together in various team-building activities, and even cook their meal together. I think each accumulation of these experiences will definitely have them prepared for the upcoming events, but also live strong in the future.

In addition to teamwork building activities, the grade 8 students visited Kakazu Hill, which is known to be one of the major battle sites during the Battle of Okinawa, where many lives were lost. They also visited the Underground Naval Head Quarters, and the Peace Memorial Park, as part of their Peace Education Program. They learned a lot about the tragic experiences of war, and how the war ended.

We need to remind ourselves what we can do now and for many more generations to come to prevent war.
