Today's AMICUS 2018 / 05 / 25

【Elementary】Being the Big bro and sis in the whole school!! Just for a while.

The junior high school students headed off early in the morning, to each of their destinations for the overnight trip. We can’t wait to hear from them. I hope they’re enjoying their trip!!

Meanwhile in AMICUS…

We saw the Grade 6 students going down the stairs to the junior high school classrooms.

Being a 6th grade student, they are facing one of the big decision-making point in their life. That is “Which junior high school shoud I move up to?” Some choose to stay while others go to different schools. We planned a small orientation and a tour today, so they can get a better picture of what they may be when they move up to junior high school with AMICUS.

The orientation started with a movie clip just like movie previews you see in the cinemas.  As they were trying to picture themselves being an elder in the school, they found some interesting differences between elementary and junior high. They have to move classes, the students run their own student council, they even have events that they didn’t have in elementary school. The most fascinating thing for them was that each student gets their own PC. I mean, of course, it enables them to do more things.

After the movie they went to a short tour around the junior high school classes. They know where everything is of course, but they’ve never seen the inside of each classes. They were interested in some of the facilities they saw in the science classroom.

“I’m definitely staying here!” is what I heard from some students.

They got back to the classroom where we started off. They wrote their opinions on a piece of paper, and reminded themselves how they may be next year. Of course a lot of the students are undecided with their path, and I’m sure their parents are too. It’s not really about what’s right or wrong, but if your decision is to stay with AMICUS, that’ll be great.

Have a great weekend!! I hope the junior high school students enjoy their trip and come back safely!!
