Today's AMICUS 2018 / 05 / 22

【Elementary】Grade 5 IN ACTION!!

There was quite a bit of rain this morning, but that is nothing to worry about with our students.

In the fifth grade, they are working on making advertisements for their own product. They got together in groups to plan the product, take videos, edit, then present their product. In the multipurpose hall, a group of students were taking a video of the “Shining Racket” which makes people improve their table-tennis skills. Recently, table-tennis is becoming more popular in Japan from the achievements of the Japanese table-tennis players, so I think the product will sell quite well as there are a good number of people who want to be a professional table-tennis player. I hope it becomes a big hit!

In the Japanese lesson, students were expressing their interpretation of spring, through Japanese traditional style of poems, such as Haiku, Tanka, and Shi. Students were carefully counting their 5-7-5 syllables of the Haiku, using words that represent the spring season.

In Math, students were reviewing volumes and decimal points in Japanese. We make sure that the students learn the Japanese expression of mathematical terms as well in AMICUS.

As the Sports Day approaches, we see things like the class flag shining brightly all around the school. We saw some students practicing their dances, which was one of the events for Sports Day. We heard the teacher asking the students whether they were good enough to teach others. It’s always an important for students that they review on what they have learned. Having not many days left, I hope they do well on the day!! GOOD LUCK!!
