Today's AMICUS 2021 / 02 / 17

【EL】G1 played with Japanese traditional toys and Dengree!

On Feb. 12th, Lunar New Year, G1 played with six types of Japanese traditional toys and a new menko sport called “Dengree” which evolves the old-style menko.

First, Mr. Oshiro, staff from Okinawa bunka kukan o-c-z talked about the Dengree.

Dengree is a sports menko that was made by Eisho Higa (a member of Okinawan band group) and o-c-z.

They happened to know that children in the disaster area after the Great-East earthquake were facing a lack of exercise.

They have decided to remake the rules of old menko to make Dengree and held its first competition in Urasoe city, Okinawa in 2013.

AMICUS 1st graders tried Dengree for the first time!

The rule is so simple that everyone was enjoying it.

Also, they enjoyed some Japanese traditional games such as spinning top, karuta games, fukuwarai, ohajiki, daruma otoshi, and hanetsuki.

We had a great time playing old-fashioned Japanese games that are always exciting, and challenging a new game called Dengree!

We also tweet about our school life!
