【EL】G6 Zoom Interaction with Kansai University Elementary School

G6 had a Zoom meeting with the 6 graders of Kansai University Elementary School in Osaka over several days.

Initially, they planned to visit us as a part of their school trip in Feb. However, the visit was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Instead, AMICUS students and Kansai Univ. El school students communicated online.

In the first few days, the students of Kansai University Elementary School gave their presentations, and AMICUS G6 students presented theirs in the latter days.

In their presentations, they shared famous things in their local region such as foods, special products, traditions, cultures, and historical architects, etc.

They were able to find differences between the Kansai area and Okinawa even though both area and prefecture are in Japan.

Students were giving comments such as, “I’ve seen this before!” and, “I’ve eaten this before!” when they saw familiar pictures in the presentations.

Although it is difficult to interact in-person during this pandemic, this Zoom meeting turned out to be a fruitful experience for the students to learn more about the country they live in.

Thank you very much to the 6 graders at Kansai University Elementary School!
