【EL】G6: School Trip

The 6th graders went on a school trip for three days and two nights in Yambaru, the northern part of Okinawa.

 

They not only enjoyed many activities in the rich nature but also helped to weed out invasive alien plants and deepened their knowledge of the SDGs in Okinawa.

 

 

⭐Glass blowing experience at the Glass Museum in the Forest ⭐

 

Each student made a handmade glass cup.

 

 

⭐Daisekirinzan, Yambaru National Park⭐

 

They visited the museum after enjoying trekking in the great nature of Daisekirinzan(a rocky peak in Yambaru).

 

 

⭐Weeding out invasive alien plants at Kunigami Village Forest Park⭐

 

They also learned about invasive alien species in their prior study.

 

In order to protect the rich nature of Yambaru, which is registered as a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, the 6th graders worked on weeding out invasive alien plants!

 

 

 

⭐Kayaking experience at Yambaru Nature School ⭐

 

Students experienced kayaking while being immersed in the nature all around them.

 

 

 

⭐Accessory making⭐

 

Participants made their own original accessories using shells and corals they found in the sea.

 

 

⭐Outdoor Park ⭐

 

They enjoyed outdoor activities such as zip-lining at Forest Adventure in Onna Village.
