Under the beautiful blue sky of Okinawa, the second graders of AMICUS Elementary went on a fun field trip to Okinawa Zoo & Museum!
At the zoo, children were able to see about 150 different animal species, many of which are rarely seen in everyday life. From unique animals native to Okinawa to creatures from Japan and around the world, there was so much to discover.
The children were especially fascinated by the common squirrel monkeys from South America!
Some students stared in awe at the otters, completely captivated by their movements.
In the same facility is the Wonder Museum, where the students felt as if they had wandered into a truly magical world!
There was a giant chair big enough for three people to sit together!
There was also a super small chair with tiny sweets and a teapot. So tiny, you’d still be hungry after ten servings.
At the Wonder Museum, It seems the students found the “ wonder” and “discovery” themselves.
Field trips are special opportunities for children to experience new things and feel inspired in ways that everyday classroom life can’t always provide.
This trip gave them the chance to learn about animals, nature, and culture — not from a textbook, but through real-life experiences.
And most of all, their sparkling smiles reminded us just how exciting it is to grow and learn. We’re already looking forward to seeing how they’ll continue to shine!
