On July 12th and 13th, the 66th Okinawa Prefectural Junior High School Swimming Competition was held at the Ounoyama Swimming Pool.
AMICUS Junior High School student, Kai Masaki, competed in the event—and achieved victory in both the 50m and 100m freestyle races!
As the prefectural champion, he has earned a spot in the upcoming Kyushu regional competition.
But that’s not all!
Kai also surpassed the national standard record during this tournament, which means he will compete in the National Championships in Kagoshima Prefecture as well!
When I spoke with him, Kai shared his determination:
“I want to beat my personal best in the next competition!”
All of us at AMICUS are cheering him on!
Go, Kai!! We’re proud of you!
