Our 4th graders at AMICUS Elementary recently went on a field trip to the Chubu Kita Waste Management Cooperative “Mishima Clean Center”!
The trip gave them the chance to see firsthand the journey our everyday garbage takes in the community!
At the Clean Center, a staff member kindly explained in detail how trash is processed.
The students listened carefully as they learned how garbage is collected, transported, and recycled.
Then, it was time to explore the factory! What they saw was far more powerful and dynamic than anything from their textbooks or pictures!
Massive machines moved and sorted the trash right before their eyes, and the students were completely fascinated.
Through this visit, the children realized how important it is to reduce waste and separate it properly for the future.
We hope the children will share their learning and excitement with their families at home!
Finally, we would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone at the Mishima Clean Center for providing such a valuable learning opportunity!
