Every February, AMICUS welcomes university students as interns!
This year, we were delighted to host two interns—one from Kanda University of International Studies and one from Kumamoto University, Graduate School of Teacher Education.
The intern from Kanda University of International Studies spent three weeks with our Grade 1 to Grade 3 classes, while the intern from Kumamoto University Graduate student joined a Grade 5 class for two weeks.
Grade 1-3:Intern from Kanda University of International Studies
The intern observed classes and spent time with students during recess, sharing many fun and meaningful moments with our friendly and energetic children!

During class time, she also led a read-aloud session.
The students listened with great interest and were fully immersed in the world of the story!

In addition, she supported our younger students by escorting them safely to their school buses after dismissal!

Grade 5:Intern from Kumamoto University, Graduate School of Teacher Education
In the upper grades, lessons become more advanced, including subject-based classes such as Science taught by specialist teachers.
During class time, the intern not only observed students but also assisted with hands-on science experiments.

In addition to the Grade 5 class, he also observed JSL (Japanese as a Second Language) classes, gaining a close look at the unique learning environment at AMICUS.

Furthermore, he conducted a fun mini-session to help students learn English vocabulary using body movements as preparation for EIKEN and TOEFL Primary!

We hope both interns gained many valuable experiences during their time at AMICUS!

We wish them all the best as they work toward becoming wonderful teachers in the future.
Good luck—we are cheering you on!
