As part of their Japanese language classes, all 9th grade students participated in the International Cooperation Junior & Senior High School Essay Contest organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Okinawa Branch.
In their essays, students explored a wide range of global issues—including poverty, educational inequality, environmental challenges, and the role of international cooperation—each approaching the topics from their own unique perspectives and expressing their thoughts in their own words.
Through this initiative, students demonstrated a strong willingness to view global issues as something relevant to their own lives and to think deeply about them. In recognition of the 9th graders’ enthusiastic participation and efforts, AMICUS was honored with a School Excellence Award from JICA Okinawa, presented by JICA Okinawa Director General, Kaori Tanaka.
This experience provided a valuable opportunity for students to broaden their global awareness and to learn the importance of expressing their own ideas thoughtfully and clearly.
Congratulations to all of our 9th graders on this wonderful achievement! 🎉
