AMICUS Representatives Shine at "OKIMUN 2026"

On June 6th and 7th, our AMICUS Junior High School students took part in “OKIMUN 2026,” a Model United Nations conference held at the Kadena Multimedia Center!

This was a highly professional and grand stage, bringing together high school and junior high school students. From AMICUS, three 9th graders and one 8th grader stepped up to the challenge.

When they first arrived at the venue, the students were incredibly nervous, however, the moment the committee sessions began, their expressions completely changed. As high-level discussions took place primarily in English, what truly backed our students up was their daily effort in our presentation-focused AMICUS English classes at school.

With the midset of “Let’s express our thoughts just like we always do!”, they courageously stepped up as proud representatives of our school, confidently delivering speeches and engaging in negotiations!

It was truly inspiring to see them communicate so passionately and fearlessly with the older participants. After the intense two-day sessions, their faces lit up with the brightest smiles during the delegate social, filled with a wonderful sense of accomplishment. By taking on global issues with everything they had, our AMICUS students gained immense confidence and grew a whole step closer to the world.

Immediately after the event, student participants asked the teachers to support them in creating a Model United Nations Committee at AMICUS, in the hope that they can continue building their debate skills.

We cannot wait to see how they will continue to shine and thrive using this priceless experience!

Huge congratulations to the four students who participated—you all did an amazing job!
