Our AMICUS 1st graders have fully adjusted to elementary school life and are becoming more confident every day!
On a beautiful day in June, with the first signs of summer in the air, the students headed off on their long-awaited first field trip!!
From the moment they boarded the AMICUS bus, excitement was everywhere as they made their way to Bios Hill in Uruma City!

Before the trip, the children had been learning about Okinawa’s plants, insects, and animals in their classroom. During the visit, they put what they had learned into action by taking part in an exciting Scavenger Hunt!

Working in groups, the students explored the park while solving riddles and completing fun missions. They searched for clues, discovered the names of the water buffaloes, learned about the winding river, and answered quiz questions together.
The park was soon filled with cheerful voices as each group worked together to complete the challenges saying “I found it!” ”I know this one!” . It was wonderful to see the children helping one another, sharing ideas, and celebrating each new discovery with big smiles.

The adventure continued with a relaxing boat ride through the park, where the students enjoyed the beautiful scenery and experienced Okinawa’s rich nature up close.

After lunch, it was time for even more fun! Some children raced to the wooden playground, others laughed together on the swings, while many couldn’t wait to take the friendly goats for a walk.

Their very first elementary school field trip was filled with excitement, teamwork, and plenty of new discoveries. Most of all, it was a day full of smiles, laughter, and wonderful memories that they will treasure for years to come.
