6G Great Thanks Giving and Okinawan Dishes

6C students enjoyed a unique experience on Thursday as they cooked a traditional American Thanksgiving meal. Students followed recipes and prepared all of the side dishes with help from their parents. Special guests, Mr. Johnston and Mr. Joel, deep fried three huge turkeys for students and staff to enjoy. All of the students loved seeing this interesting sight and really appreciated Mr. Johnston, Mr. Joel, and all of the parent volunteers taking time to do this for them. The students loved the food!

On Friday, 6A students worked to raise money to buy something special for their graduation from elementary school. They used their home economics class to cook traditional Okinawan dishes and made delicious bento boxes to sell to the teachers. Students searched for the recipes and came up with the cooking plan by themselves. This was their third cooking fundraiser this year and Ms. Tsuchiya has taught them well! They are not only very responsible and diligent fundraisers, but they are also amazing cooks! Parents also provided a lot of support by helping with the cooking.
