On the 3rd and 4th, our kindergarten held their Open Class where parents and guardians were invited to observe what (or how) their children are doing/learning at school.
K2 spent time doing calligraphy in the Multi-Purpose Hall. They’ve been learning to write/draw using various materials, such as pencils, markers, etc. They also had opportunities to use a calligraphy brush. Each had chosen a character from their name. They hadn’t learned any sort of artistic balance yet, for the sake of prioritizing enjoyment of writing.
The K1 kids each made their own wreath. Their wish for endless happiness is the explanation for the ring’s shape. Each chose from a variety of materials: ribbons, leaves, pinecones, etc. They presented their completed work at the end before the guests.
