From September 16th to 30th, AMICUS held its annual Literacy Fortnight Program, a special two-week event filled with fun, a variety of activities across the school!
Throughout this period, students explored the joy of reading through a variety of experiences — from creating their own Book Recommendation Cards, and producing a Read-Aloud Video with the Library Committee, to joining an SDGs Book Swap, where they traded books and discovered new favorites.
Among all these activities, one of the most heartwarming highlights was the Cross-Grade Reading Exchange!
Students from different grade levels, who don’t usually get to work together, paired up and connected through shared reading time.
Kindergarteners and 5th graders, 1st and 6th graders, 2nd and 7th graders, 3rd and 8th graders, and 4th and 9th graders teamed up as reading buddies.
The older students read picture books aloud to their younger partners with warm voices and smiles, while younger ones listened with shining eyes and full attention.
After the story time, everyone enjoyed making their own original bookmarks using colorful origami!
Cute monsters, cool characters, and creative designs filled the room — along with lots of happy smiles.
Through books, students built wonderful connections that went beyond grade levels.
It was a joyful and inspiring time, full of laughter, learning, and the shared love of reading!
