The very special bananas arrived for the AMICUS second graders!
But these aren’t just any bananas. They come with a heartwarming story that began all the way back in their kindergarten days.
When the current second graders were at AMICUS Kindergarten, one family kindly donated several banana seedlings to the school.
The children and teachers at that time took great care of the plants, and as they grew strong and healthy, they produced new shoots.
Those new seedlings were then shared with other families in the kindergarten community.
One of those families continued to nurture their banana plant lovingly in their home garden.
And this year… What a wonderful surprise!
After about two to three years of careful tending, the banana finally bore fruit — and the family kindly brought their homegrown bananas to share with the AMICUS second graders!
At lunchtime, the bananas became a special dessert for the children.
The children’s happy smiles said it all — joy, excitement, and gratitude.
From a small seedling to a beautiful connection that keeps growing, this was truly one of those heartwarming AMICUS stories that remind us how our community is always connected!
