Autumn Garden News

A gentle and chilly breeze has started to blow through AMICUS, reminding us that early winter is just around the corner!
As the seasons begin to change, we’d like to introduce some beautiful flowers that bloom in Okinawa during autumn.

As many of you know, the AMICUS campus is home to a variety of tropical plants.
Among them, we’ve picked out three flowers that have especially caught our attention this season!

① Calliandra

In front of the Multi-Purpose Hall (MPH), bright pink Calliandra flowers are in full bloom.
This flower, which blossoms from autumn to spring, takes its name from the Greek words kallos (beautiful) and andros (stamen).
The flower languages of Irukanda are “nobility”, “pure heart”, and “passion”.
The soft, fluffy pink petals gently brighten up the AMICUS campus every day♪

② Yucca Flower

High above the garden at AMICUS, elegant white Yucca flowers have bloomed at the top of a tall tree!
Yucca usually blooms between May and July (early to mid-summer), preferring sunny conditions and blooming only under very specific circumstances.
Seeing such a rare flower this season was a delightful surprise for everyone.
The flower languages are “growth” and “development” — a beautiful symbol of our students’ steady progress and bright future🍀

③ Allamanda

Vivid yellow petals, the Allamanda flower stands out brightly on campus!
The flower languages are “eternal happiness” and “hidden beauty”.
When tapped lightly, the petals make a soft “pop” sound — a fun discovery that became one of the children’s favorite playtime activities!
The cheerful yellow blossoms seem to fill the school with energy and joy.
May happiness and smiles continue to bloom at AMICUS every day!

As the cool autumn breeze flows through our campus, AMICUS is slowly transitioning into its winter look.
In this beautiful season full of color and warmth, take a moment to pause and appreciate the flowers blooming around you — they might brighten your day♪
