Recently, AMICUS Elementary School held its annual EL Performance Day at the Kadena Cultural Center.
This special day gave students the opportunity to showcase the results of their learning and efforts they have made throughout the year.
The overall theme for this year was “Peace.”
In the first half of the program, students performed theatrical presentations, followed by musical performances in the second half. Each grade expressed their thoughts and wishes for peace through different forms of expression.
Grades 1, 3, and 5 performed theatrical performances.

First graders presented “The Rainbow of Peace,” a story in which children, acting as animals, set off on a journey to find colors to create a rainbow. With great energy, they expressed how working together with friends can bring peace to life.

Third graders performed “The Tree of Peace.” Through words and songs, they shared messages of friendship, hope, and wishes for peace in the world, emphasizing the importance of cooperation among people around the globe.

Fifth graders presented a play inspired by the life of Takashi Yanase, the creator of Anpanman. Reflecting on the past, expressing gratitude for the present, and thinking about the future, the students conveyed messages of courage and hope through poetry and songs inspired by Anpanman.

The music portion of the program began with a performance by the AMICUS Choir, which filled the venue with an even warmer and more welcoming atmosphere.
Grades 2, 4, and 6 presented choral and instrumental performances.

Second graders sang with bright and gentle voices, sharing their heartfelt wish that “happiness and energy reach everyone” as children awakening from a dream.

Fourth graders performed music using the recorders and the sanshin, along with a choral performance. Their signing and music, filled with wishes for world peace, created a calm and pleasant moment for the audience.

Sixth graders performed an ensemble of a Disney medley and a Christmas medley, using instruments they had practiced since before summer vacation. Their familiar and cheerful music filled the hall with smiles and joy, making many audience members want to hum along!
On the day of the event, many parents and guardians attended and supported the students with warm applause. We sincerely thank everyone for their cooperation and encouragement.
We would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to all the students of AMICUS Elementary School for sharing such wonderful performances.
