On Thursday, March 5, AMICUS third-grade students visited the Chatan Town Museum for a field trip.
At the museum, they learned about what Chatan was like about 7,000 years ago, the lives of the Jomon people, and how people interacted with one another in those times.
Through the exhibits and explanations of historical materials, the children were able to imagine how people lived in the past, and deepen their understanding of the history of their community.
The museum is a new facility built in 2024. Outside the museum is the Ireibaru Site, where many pottery pieces and shells have been discovered.
After visiting the museum, the third graders moved to AEON Chatan and enjoyed a 40- minute shopping experience. This was a great opportunity to connect what they have been learning in social studies about “people who work in stores” with real-life experiences.
They then had lunch at nearby Araha Park and enjoyed spending time with their friends!
It was the last field trip for the third graders, and the day was filled with smiles and wonderful memories!
